The judges had a tough task on their hands as the quality of the entries was very high. They evaluated the films based on their creativity, originality, technical quality, and overall impact.

After careful consideration, the judges selected the top 25 films. Out of which top 3 films were then screened at the Short Film Contest 2023, which was held at a prestigious venue in Chennai. The screening was attended by filmmakers, film enthusiasts, and members of Influencers.

The top three films were announced at the screening, and the filmmakers were presented with their awards. The first prize went to a film called “Swachh,” which was a powerful and thought-provoking film about the misuse of ‘power’. The second prize went to a film called “Sirithu Velicham,” which was a beautifully shot film about a man’s journey to rediscover himself after a traumatic experience. The third prize went to a film called “Stigma,” which was a haunting film about breaking societal stereotypes/ stigma.

The Short Film Contest 2023 was a great success, and it was clear that the filmmakers who participated put a lot of effort and creativity into their films. The event was a wonderful opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their work and connect with other professionals in the industry.

One of the highlights of the contest was the presence of several esteemed chief guests, who graced the occasion with their wisdom and insights.

The first chief guest to arrive at the event was a renowned veteran Editor from Cine industry, Mr. B. LENIN, known for his ground-breaking work in the industry. He spoke at length about the importance of Editing and Music in cinema and how short films provide a great platform for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their talent. His words of wisdom resonated with the audience and set the tone for the rest of the contest.

The second chief guest to arrive was a famous actor and cinematographer Mr. ILLAVARASU, who has worked in many successful films over the years. He talked about the importance of acting in films and how it can make or break a movie. He encouraged the filmmakers to focus on getting the best performances out of their actors, as that is what ultimately brings the story to life on the big screen.

The third chief guest to grace the occasion was a well-known ‘HATRICK DIRECTOR’ of Tamil cinema Mr. Gauvrav Narayanan who has directed several critically acclaimed films. He spoke about the business side of filmmaking and how filmmakers need to be aware of the commercial aspects of their work. He also talked about the importance of networking and building relationships in the industry, as that can often lead to new opportunities and collaborations.

The fourth and final chief guest to arrive was a respected film critic. YouTuber and influencer Mr. Akash Vijayakumar, who has reviewed countless films over the years. He shared his insights into what makes a good film and how filmmakers can improve their craft. He encouraged the filmmakers to take risks and be bold in their storytelling, as that is often what sets great films apart from the rest.

Overall, the Short Film Contest of 2023 was a great success, thanks in no small part to the presence of these esteemed chief guests. Their words of wisdom and encouragement will no doubt inspire many of the young filmmakers who participated in the event, and help them to grow and evolve in their craft.
